Set up the onboarding flow
The onboarding flow is what every new member sees right after joining, before they land in the community. Configure it in Admin → Onboarding.
Build your flow
- Go to Admin → Onboarding.
- Enable the steps you want new members to complete, such as:
- Welcome message — a short intro from you.
- Profile setup — name and avatar.
- Join spaces — point members to starter spaces and channels.
- First course — link a course as a recommended first action.
- Reorder steps by dragging them.
- Click Save.
New members run through these steps the first time they sign in (via email or Google).
Tie onboarding to engagement
Onboarding works best alongside other member features:
- Spaces & channels — send new members straight into a welcome channel.
- Gamification — award XP for completing onboarding so members start with momentum.
- Courses — set a first lesson as a step to drive early activation.
Preview and adjust
Use Admin → Analytics to watch member growth and retention after launch. If early drop-off is high, shorten the flow or move your strongest hook (a course or active channel) earlier.
Tip: Ask the AI Owner Copilot to "set up a welcome course" — it can create the course and you can link it as an onboarding step.
