Manage your notifications

Tune notifications so you stay in the loop on what matters and mute the rest. Settings apply across the web app and your installed PWA.

Steps

  1. Click your avatar in the top-right corner and choose Notification settings.
  2. Set your default level for channels:
    • All — every new message.
    • Mentions only — just when someone @mentions you or replies in your thread.
    • Off — no notifications.
  3. Override the default for any channel: open the channel, click its name/menu, and pick a notification level. This is how you mute a busy channel.
  4. Choose whether to be notified for direct messages (recommended: on).
  5. Save your changes.

Mute a single channel

In the channel, open the channel menu and select Mute. You'll still see unread highlights in the sidebar, but won't get pushed notifications.

Want fewer pings overall? Set your default to Mentions only, then turn All on for the one or two channels you never want to miss.

FAQ

Will I get notified for every message? Only if your default (or that channel's setting) is All. Use Mentions only to cut the noise.

Do streaks or challenges send reminders? Engagement features like daily rituals may notify you; adjust them in Notification settings alongside channels.

I muted a channel but still see a badge — why? Muting stops push notifications but keeps the unread indicator so you can catch up on your own time.

Do these settings carry to the mobile PWA? Yes. Notification preferences are tied to your account, so they apply wherever you're signed in.
