Moderate your community

Owners and admins keep the community safe and on-topic. Member actions happen in the app; member management lives in Admin → Members.

Moderate a message

In any channel, thread, or DM you have access to as an admin:

  1. Hover the message and open the ••• menu.
  2. Choose Delete message to remove it.

Deleted messages are removed for everyone in real time.

Mute or remove a member

  1. Go to Admin → Members.
  2. Find the member (search or filter).
  3. Open the row menu and choose:
    • Mute — temporarily blocks them from posting while they keep read access.
    • Remove — revokes their access to the community.
  4. Confirm the action.

Reinstate a muted member from the same menu when ready.

Promote moderators

Need help? Promote a trusted member to admin so they can moderate chat and manage spaces. See Member roles and permissions.

Watch for risk early

Use built-in signals instead of reacting only to reports:

  • Member health scores flag members who are disengaging.
  • Churn signals highlight people likely to leave.
  • Per-channel engagement in Admin → Analytics shows where activity is dropping.

Tip: The AI Owner Copilot can run analytics and surface at-risk members on request, with every action logged in the audit log.

FAQ

What's the difference between mute and remove? Mute keeps read access but blocks posting; remove revokes access entirely.

Can admins moderate DMs? Admins moderate content in spaces and channels. Private DMs between members are not surfaced for moderation.

Is moderation logged? Actions taken via the AI Owner Copilot appear in its audit log. Manual changes update the member's status in Admin → Members.

Can I undo a removal? Re-invite the person from Admin → Members to restore access.
