Spot at-risk members with health scores and churn signals

Bonfire continuously scores member engagement in the background so you can act before someone goes quiet for good. You review this in Admin → Engagement and Admin → Analytics.

1. Open member health scores

  1. Go to Admin → Engagement → Member Health.
  2. Each member has a health score based on recent activity — posting, reactions, logins, course progress.
  3. Sort by lowest score to see who's slipping.

2. Read churn signals

In the same view, churn signals flag members trending toward inactivity (e.g. a long-time regular who hasn't shown up lately). These are your highest-priority outreach targets.

3. Re-engage at-risk members

For each flagged member:

  1. Send a friendly DM from the community app.
  2. Invite them into a relevant space or channel.
  3. Pair re-engagement with a weekly challenge or ritual so they have a clear next step.

4. Reduce churn structurally

  • Turn on daily rituals so members always have a reason to return (see Rituals).
  • Use matchmaking to connect isolated members.
  • Reward streaks with badges so consistency feels worth it.

5. Track the trend

Open Admin → Analytics → Retention to confirm your interventions are working. Watch retention and growth move week over week.

FAQ

How is the health score calculated? From recent engagement signals — activity, logins, and participation — scored automatically in the background.

What counts as a churn signal? A drop in activity relative to a member's normal pattern, flagging likely disengagement.

Can I message at-risk members in bulk? Reach out individually via DM for a personal touch; use challenges and rituals to re-engage groups.

Does the Copilot help here? Yes — ask the AI Owner Copilot to run retention analytics and summarize at-risk members.
