Set up automated daily rituals

Rituals are recurring prompts that run on a background schedule to keep your community active without manual effort. You configure them in Admin → Engagement.

1. Enable daily rituals

  1. Go to Admin → Engagement → Rituals.
  2. Turn on Daily rituals.
  3. Choose the channel where the ritual prompt is posted (e.g. #general or a dedicated #daily channel).

The ritual now posts automatically each day — a recurring prompt members can respond to, building a habit of returning.

2. Pick a posting time

Set the time of day the ritual fires. Choose a moment when your members are typically online so the prompt lands in front of active people.

3. Reward participation

Pair rituals with gamification:

  1. Open Admin → Gamification → XP Rules.
  2. Add XP for posting in the ritual channel.
  3. Optionally create a streak-based badge for members who respond daily.

This turns a simple prompt into a reason to come back every day.

4. Turn on matchmaking (coffee chats)

In Admin → Engagement → Matchmaking, enable coffee-chat matchmaking. A background cron periodically pairs members for one-to-one introductions, surfacing connections that would otherwise never happen.

Verify it's working

After the scheduled time, check the ritual channel to confirm the prompt posted, and watch for member replies over the next few days.
