Roles & Permissions

Manage your community's roles, their ranking, and exactly what each role is allowed to do. Roles are listed from highest to lowest power.

Open it from Admin -> Roles (the route is /admin/roles).

What you can do here

  • Click Create Role to add a role, give it a name and color, and optionally copy permissions from an existing role.
  • Drag roles by their handle to reorder their hierarchy (higher = more power).
  • In the General tab, edit a role's name, color, and description.
  • In the Permissions tab, set each permission to Allow, Default, or Deny across General, Spaces, Content, Members, Moderation, Courses, AI, Billing, and Settings.
  • In the Members tab, search and add members to the role, or remove them.
  • Delete a custom role and optionally move its members to another role.

Tips

  • Default system roles have fixed permissions and cannot be edited.
  • Save permission changes from the Save bar that appears once you make edits.
